TOPAMAX – general information
TOPAMAX, generically known as Topiramate, is a seizure medication that belongs to the class called anticonvulsants. It acts affecting chemicals in the brain that help to reduce seizure activity. Storage information: TOPAMAX should be stored at room temperature. The tablets should be kept away from heat and moisture in a place that cannot be reached by children.
How should you take TOPAMAX?
Take TOPAMAX exactly as it was prescribed by your doctor. Take the medicine with a glass of water either on an empty or on a full stomach. The tablets should be swallowed whole or the capsule may be opened and its contents sprinkled on a spoonful of soft food. It is not recommended to stop taking Tapomax without first talking to your doctor. Most patients should gradually taper doses of the drug before they can end their treatment. Do not stop taking TOPAMAX abruptly as it may cause increased migraines or seizures.
Missed dose: If you miss a dose of TOPAMAX you should take it as soon as you remember. However if it is time for another dose, skip the missed dose and keep to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose.
Warnings
